History


1987

Pepper Source was founded by Jim Mayer, Sr. and Joe Morse, Sr. in response to the growing need for private label hot sauce.

1991

Pepper Source’s original hot sauce plant was built in Van Buren, AR.

1997

American Breading and Spice was incorporated as a sister company to Pepper Source in order to provide specialty batters and breading solutions.

1998

Pepper Source Breading and Spice was formed as the second sister company to Pepper Source to separate the increasing spice blend production from the batters and breading business.

1999

Pepper Source’s second location was opened in Rogers, AR.

2001

Jim Mayer Sr. passed away. Joe Morse, Sr. was named president of the Pepper Source family of companies.

2003

The most recent addition of Pepper Source Rogers is completed — tripling the size of the original structure.

2006

New research and development facility was built.

2009

Pepper Source launches in-house IT batch monitoring system to ensure complete regulatory compliance and live production updates for unparalleled customer service.

2012

Joe Morse, Jr. joins the Pepper Source team, marking entry into our third generation of ownership.

2013

Pepper Source initiates a substantial investment in personnel and facility improvements in anticipation of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
